Iran’s leaders are scrambling to replace Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who ruled the country for 37 years before he was killed in the surprise U.S. and Israeli bombardment.

The United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iran on Saturday (February 28).

Crowds gathered in central squares dressed in black, waving Iranian flags and shouting slogans as demonstrations spread across major urban centres.
